Gili Trawangan is the largest island within the Gili Islands and has gone through rapid development over the last few years (although it still retains it's small island atmosphere as tall buildings are prohibited). It is a great island to do a diving course or to relax from the bustling nightlife on Gili Trawangan. The island can still be considered quite rural and out of the three Gili Islands, Gili Air has the highest local population of around 1800 people. A stroll around the island will take you around 2 hours and the island is great for diving, snorkeling, walking and even offers some surfing for the more experienced surfers. Gili Air offers a wide range of accommodation ranging from hostels to villa’s.

Gili Meno is the quietest island of the three Gili Islands and has even better beaches than Gili Trawangan and Gili Air. It is the perfect island for honeymoon couples that are looking for a quiet place to go for a romantic getaway and enjoy the natural surroundings. You can take a stroll around Gili Meno within 1,5 hours, most of the facilities on the island are on the South-Eastern part of the island. Gili Meno has a lake in the middle of the island, the island also has a turtle sanctuary and until recently, a bird park. Of course, Gili Meno is great for diving too, with three dive shops available on the island. Next to diving there' s great snorkeling right off the beach, with sea turtle sightings guarunteed. There are some restaurants on the island offering food for budget travelers as well as full service dining establishments and the relatively limited accommodation options are quite evenly divided between budget, mid-range and high-end.
